Personal: Doug Harrington was born in Michigan, migrated to California in 1972 and lived there several years before moving to the Pacific Northwest in 1976. Creative interests have included jewelry smithing and music. Enjoying the opportunity of living in the beautiful Pac. N.W. he has pursued many outdoor activities including skiing, hiking/back packing, whitewater rafting and mineral collecting. He has three daughters and currently resides north of Seattle, WA.

Professional: Introduced to the fractal art form in 1996 his fascination with this art form quickly to passion. Beginning work with this contemporary art form soon after, he quickly established an innovative approach focusing on capturing depth of color and light in his compositions. His art differs from most other fractal artists in that he uses his own completely original and unique formulas to create his art. Doug established Fractalarts.com, one of the most frequently visited websites of this art form, in 1998. His art is currently being distributed in multi-media form via computer screensavers, as well as art prints. His art work has been purchased by corporations like John Deere LTD, Vanity Fair magazine, educational institutions including M.I.T., as well as used in numerous publications and music CD's His work was displayed at a two month exhibit called Unseen Worlds at Loveland Museum, Loveland, CO, Dec. 14, 2002 – Feb. 14 2003, curator Janice Currier. This group exhibit included astrophotography by David Malin (Anglo-Australian Observatory) and Tony & Daphne Hallas, Macro Photography by Teri O'Neill , and Bio/Techno art by Nancy McGee, professor emeritus at Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. His has also served as a judge in the digital art category at the Western Washington State Fair.
