This is a list of previously profiled sites in "Fractal Art Sightings".

Karma Storm  Steve Bennett's site although not fractal related, has wonderfully created art animations worth checking out. Iterations Et Flarium24  Steven Ferguson's program Tiera-zon, used for most of the fractals on this site, may be found here but his fractal galleries are also well worth the visit.
Fractals!  Samuel Monnier's first caught my attention for his "Space" scenes created using Ultra Fractal. Be sure to check this one out! Fractal Dimentia  Mark Townsend's site, featuring his fractal art using Ultra Fractal, has some very nice fractals.
Fractal Movie Archive  Kevin Adams' site features animations and zooms of fractals in several different formats such as .avi, Quicktime etc. Animated Fractals  Alden Bliss's site has a number of good demonstrations of fractal zooms, pallette animations and "Lake" fractals ( a java application ).
"Monsters and Strange Creatures"  galleries by Jos Ley has some fun (and very good!) fractal art. These fractals are open to the imagination but definitely resemble strange creatures! Check it out! fa2k   is an annual contest for fractal art hosted by Damien Jones. Many fractal artists (including your's truly!) have entered images that can then be voted on by anyone visiting the site.Voting ends Jan.31, 2001 but the art can still be viewed after that date.
Fractal Art Screensaver Project   This FREE screensaver features the art from 49 contributing fractal artists. Go get it! Jim Muth F.O.D. (Fractal Of The Day) Jim's daily fractal post, hosted by Paul N. Lee, is always fun to check out. Not only is there a fresh image each day but he also posts the parameters for the file, (Fractint) , with a brief explanation. In addition Jim's musings are always entertaining! Check it out!
Gumbycat A.K.A. Linda Allison , was creating beautiful fractals before I knew what one was! She has also written a few tutorials on using Fractint for beginners. (You can find a link to those on my "Links" page.) Check her art out, it's well worth the visit! Whenever I have the pleasure of seeing Faye Williams fractal art posted on the fractal newsgroups I know I am in for a treat! Her refined style and use of color gradients makes her art one of my favorites. Check it out!
Daphne Aston is a newer fractal artist who works with the MBF fractal generator and should be an inspiration for any aspiring fractal artist! Her use of limited and unique color palettes highlight her compositions and offer a treat for the eyes! Linda McCarthy'swebsite is a treat for fractal eye candy! Her work with Xeno Dream, a newer fractal/graphics program, is exceptional and some of the best I've seen with this program. She has a number of galleries featuring different fractal and graphics programs but be sure to check out her Xeno galleries!
Arend Nijdam's  is one of the foremost artists working with the program Fractal Explorer as well as many other programs. Well known to the fractal artists community for his love of flowers and depiction of fractals that resemble them. He has parameter files of his images to download for Fractal Explorer, galleries of his work with various graphics programs etc. Arend is also known for being a general all around nice guy and for his willingness to share and help other artists! Be sure to visit his site! Terry Wright's  fractals are an amalgamation of techniques. Using fractals and a variety of graphic tools he creates very unique fractal compositions. Terry's extensive site features his writings as well as fractals. Be sure to check out his site for a break from the ordinary!
"Colors Of Infinity"  is an excellent video on fractals that can be purchased for a reasonable price. Set to the music of Pink Floyd and hosted by Arthur C. Clarke, this remarkable video explores one of the most amazing mathematical discoveries -- the Mandelbrot set. The video includes interviews with a number of notable mathematicians & scientists including Benoît Mandelbrot, Stephan Hawking and others. John Macpherson's fractal art is colorful, expansive and unique! Using the Tiera-zon fractal program John creates wonderful abstracts full of color and light, many of which are available as prints. I especially like John's definition of "art" !
" So, what is art? Art is something made by an artist. What is good art? Good art is stuff you like. Bad art is stuff you do not like. There, you now have the equivalent of an MFA which normally takes 6 years of advanced study. " Visit his site for a treat! (You will need to use Internet Explorer as a browser, Netscape is not compatible with the menu applets)
Benoit Mandelbrot a mathematician at IBM is credited with the "discovery" of fractals in the 1970's. Learn more about the man behind the math! This page provides many links to information on Benoit Mandelbrot and fractal discovery. The artist known as "O" sometimes posts images on the newsgroups. He uses the program Fractint to create a diverse selection of fractals. Fractint was one of the original fractal generating programs and while it lacks some of the advanced features of the newer generators the images it generates are amazing!
The Ultimate Fractal Video Project Treat yourselves to some great fractal animations! Paul DeCelle is an accomplished fractal artist with the program Ultrafractal. His unique art is a treat, check it out!
Joseph Presley is a fractal artist using the programs Ultra Fractal and XenoDream. His work with both programs are definitely worth checking out! Enjoy! Fracternity is Sharron & Thomas Emrich's website. Their work with Ultra Fractal is exceptional and well worth the visit. Both have a geat eye for compostion and their work with gradients really set their work apart. Check them out for a treat!   ;-)
Richard E. Dickerson Director of the Molecular Biology Institute at U.C.L.A, has written an excellent paper complete with illustrations on HIGHER ORDER MANDELBROT FRACTALS: EXPERIMENTS IN NANOGEOMETRY which is an "experimental and descriptive analysis of fractal behavior". Even if the math is over your head it is still worthwhile seeing the experiments with the math to get an overview as to how changes in formulas affect fractal forms. This 58 page document can be downloaded in PDF or MS WORD formats. He writes; "If it can create a similar love of fractal behavior in the reader, it will have achieved its purpose." Highly recommended, check it out!   ;-) Jock Cooper - Fractal Animations Jock Cooper is a fractal artist who has created quite a number of fractal animations of his work in Ultrafractal that are worth checking out. These are very large mpeg files, some over 100 MB's, so are probably best viewed only if you have access to a high speed internet connection, ie; cable or DSL. Check out his excellent fractal art work as well!   ;-)
